Pregnancy / Prenatal Massage
A specialized massage therapy that is designed to support the physical and emotional well-being of pregnant women. It is a gentle and therapeutic form of massage that is tailored to the unique needs and changes that occur in a woman's body during pregnancy. During a pregnancy massage, the therapist will use a pregnancy pillow or have the client in various positions ( side lying or semi-fowlers) to make the massage as comfortable as possible. Pregnancy massage is safe throughout the entire pregnancy. Please book an initial or subsequent appointment and let your RMT know before your appointment.
Annie has experience with infantile cerebral palsy, and other conditions that may benefit from massage therapy treatment. This is a modality that can help treat all ages!
Fascial Stretch Therapy
What is FST? FST is a whole-body approach to optimizing flexibility, improving functional mobility, athletic performance, and decreasing pain. FST differs from other forms of stretching by addressing the fascial nets in the body and using joint traction to increase joint range of motion and muscle elongation.
Most FST° techniques are performed on the massage table clothed and without oil. Wearing stretchy, athletic clothes is necessary for optimal movement. You will be queued throughout the treatment to breathe as you are moved in and out of the stretches. FST" also includes contract-relax PNF neuromuscular stretching techniques to facilitate further increases in range of motion and releases. Lastly, elastic straps are used to secure the opposite limb to the table to stabilize the limb during treatment.
